PSYCHOTHERAPY

Linda Kawer LCSW is a psychotherapist who has had a private practice in New York's Hudson Valley for almost thirty years. Linda Kawer's earlier career in medical biochemical research together with her many years of clinical and administrative experience working with trauma and addictions in community mental health have informed her understanding of psychodynamics, neurobiology and human development.

She integrates a wide range of experience into a psychotherapeutic approach that embraces the use of dreams, myths and metaphors - working with both symbols and symptoms - in the healing process.

Linda Kawer believes in the transformative potential of deep therapeutic work and understands the body's capacity for memory and healing. She is a graduate of Marion Woodman's BodySoul Rhythms© Leadership Program and has been trained as a 50/50 Pathwork Helper. Her work with mentor Marion Woodman, well-known analyst and author, is woven into her psychotherapy with individuals, couples, families and groups. Linda leads Intensive Embodying Conscious Femininity Retreats and Workshops with Sil Reynolds RN and Sherry Wheaton MD, where they weave ritual, voice, myth, masks, dream work, movement, art and creative expression into a skillfully crafted process which promotes the unique healing and growth of each individual.

Linda also offers consultation and supervision for professionals.
