OSTEOPATHY
 Dr. Ari Rosen |
 Dr. Joseph Tieri |
Dr. Ari Rosen, D.O. and Dr. Joseph Tieri, D.O. are Osteopathic Physicians who specialize in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, with a focus on Cranial Osteopathy. Osteopaths (DOs) are trained similarly to Allopathic Doctors (MDs), but are taught to view the body more holistically and integrate Manipulation along with drugs and surgery. The treatment is gentle manipulation that works to balance the body's physiology, relieve restricted and compressed areas throughout the body, and help the body to heal itself.
Infants, children, and adults, with varied conditions, are treated with Osteopathic Manipulation. Some examples of commonly and effectively treated conditions are: headaches, migraines, back and neck pain, trauma, nerve pain, ear infections, vertigo, joint dysfunctions, sinusitis, birth trauma, asthma, etc. Osteopathy is also truly preventative. Many patients opt for regular appointments, every month or so, to help them function more optimally and stay on top of the pressures and strain their busy lives put on them.
Dr. Rosen and Dr. Tieri completed four years of pre-med undergraduate study. They then attended the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine for four years and graduated in 1997. Their first post-graduate year was spent doing a hospital-based general medical internship. Both doctors then spent two years specializing in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at one of the premier residencies in the country at St. Barnabas Hospital in NYC. Upon completion of their training they set up practice together, bringing this high quality Osteopathic Manipulation to the Hudson Valley.

"Working with Lysa has been a pleasure, She helped me to reevaluate the types of food I was already eating and helped me to add several other options as to not get bored. She was very great at keeping me up to date with tasty and new recipes to reach success. She also helped me to find that the possibility of a wheat intolerance could have been causing me to not lose weight when I did eat healthy and exercise on a daily basis. Since I have cut way back on the amount of wheat I eat and add wheat alternatives I now feel better. My mood has changed, I don't feel bloated or uncomfortable. Lysa has been a great help and working with her was a pleasure. Thank you for all your help!" ---- Aron Thomas
"Taking Lisa's class has literally changed my life. ...It was not just a nutrition class, but an instruction about the mind, body, spirit connection... Her recipes were so yummy that you could just moan! ---- Heidi O'Connor

PILATES
Maiya Greaves is a Pilates Instructor who specializes in Neuromuscular Re-education. She has more than 11 years of experience in creating individualized movement programs, including exercise programs for recovery from chronic injury. A former professional modern dancer, she is owner of Wisdombody Movement Resources. "Pilates instructor Maiya Greaves has helped me re-discover my body. She has taught me how to move in a whole new way and brought my attention to nuances in my body-patterns that were no longer working for me. The strengthening and toning of my core muscles has significantly lessened the back pain that has plagued me for many years. However, the greatest gift is learning how to use my body in a new way that will prevent re-injury. Maiya Greaves is an amazing teacher, who gives you a comprehensive understanding of your own body mechanics." - Jipala R. Kagan, L.Ac., Kingston, NY "Originally, I came to Maiya with lower back pain that had made movement difficult, even frightening. Through her insight, patterns began to shift that decades of other people working on my body had not changed. The difference came from Maiya's sensitive awareness of what is happening within another's world as it manifests physically. She has also held an image of health and recovery that supported me through times when I felt it was all a distant dream. It is this support and the subtle education of body and mind that allows deeper change to happen; freedom of movement can return and be sustained in a new way." - Michele Martin, Kathmandu, Nepal & Woodstock, NY "Maiya has a wonderful knowledge of anatomy, and her ability to creatively help you visualize your functional understanding of anatomy is impressive. She is also a master at problem-solving ways to engage your anatomy, through movement, to reach an improved and therapeutic exercise. I cherish knowing and working with Maiya, and I recommend her highly." - Ari Rosen, D.O., Stone Ridge, NY
